Gary McLean Hall

Zero Drift co-founder and architecture lead, bringing senior architecture review and regulated-platform experience to complete product delivery.

Gary’s work is to make the structural decisions visible before they become expensive defects: where a domain ends, who owns the data, what must be recoverable, how the system changes safely and what a proposed design will cost to operate. Architecture is not a diagram for its own sake. It is a set of choices that lets the business keep moving without losing the behaviour people already depend on.

Gary led architecture at Hargreaves Lansdown and later worked with Daniel at Validus Risk Management. Those are prior regulated-platform roles, not certifications or customer endorsements for Zero Drift. In the studio he acts as architecture lead and Daniel’s rigorous peer reviewer. Their shared method expects a recommendation to state its evidence, trade-offs and the observation that would change it.

Zero Drift is a small team led by two equal founders. Gary tends to lead architecture; Daniel tends to lead product and CTO questions. Both work across the whole product when the problem needs it, and the lead for each decision is named in the engagement.

For an architecture review, live-system refactor or named technical lead, the useful first conversation is about the business decision and what existing evidence can be shared.
